After breakfast we will pick you up at your hotel in Chiang Mai. Standard pickup time is 8am. Today you will visit Doi Inthanon National Park and all it's highlights. Visit the two pagodas - The King (Napamaytanidol) and The Queen (Napapon Phoom - Siri) on the summit of Doi Inthanon - The Highest Peak in Thailand. These pagodas were built to honor the 60th birthday of the King and Queen in 1987 and 1992 respectively. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery at the two huge waterfalls and lastly visit a Karen hill tribe village. The Karen are a tribal group who have historically lived in the hills on the Myanmar ( formerly Burma) side of the Thai border. Best recognized for their elongated necks, the Karen women wear heavy brass rings around their necks, forearms, and shins. While the Karen men are mainly field workers and farmers, the women have a rich history of crafting from wood carving to weaving.

Venture into the jungle of northern Thailand on a private trek accompanied by an expert guide, round-trip from Chiang Mai! Enjoy three days of trekking near Chiang Dao, a small town set in spectacular mountains. Your guide will take you to visit remote hill tribe villages of the Palong, Akha, Karen and Lahu peoples. You’ll be welcomed into the villages with northern Thai cooking and overnight accommodation in modest bamboo huts. You’ll also have leisure time to explore the vibrant northern city of Chiang Mai before and after the trek.
After meeting your guide at about 8.00am you will be driven to a beautiful typical Northern Thai local market. The guide will do the shopping for the next couple of days and you will see some of the unique local specialties for sale there. About an hour from Chiang Mai you'll begin a mostly uphill trek following a great mountain trail along a stream to the camp. The natural surroundings besides the camp consists a lovely waterfall, so take advantage of a dip here in the cool water. After lunch trek further for your first visit to a Karen village. Have a chat with the locals about their daily lives. The route leading to the next Karen village is through some dense forest.Overnight will be at a simple homestay within the Karen village itself. After breakfast the next morning, the trek will be most downhill this time, passing rice-fields and more. After reaching the truck, drive to the Wang River to go rafting before heading back to Chiang Mai
